[CORDOVA, TN] – Latting Speed Shop, along with its interior partner Team Car Cafe, officially closed permanently on December 24, 2025. Founded by local musician and pilot Will Tucker in 2020, the boutique bicycle and coffee shop had become a unique destination for the Mid-South cycling community.
The shop was widely recognized for its high-end luxury bicycle retail experience, featuring a 1980 Mercedes-Benz 240D mounted above the coffee bar. Originally starting as a mobile service in 2019, Tucker transitioned to the brick-and-mortar location in Cordova near the Shelby Farms Greenline in 2021.
A Look Back at LSS:
- A "Boutique" Approach: The shop specialized in high-performance brands like BMC and SRAM, offering custom paint jobs and pro-level bike fittings.
- Community Space: The mission of LSS was to create a social hub where "friendships were nurtured." It hosted regular community group rides and served as a gathering spot for both cyclists and coffee lovers.
- The Farewell: In their closing announcement, the owners stated that while the time had come to close, they felt their mission of providing unparalleled service and a unique community space had been accomplished.
While the physical storefront is now permanently closed, the owners have hinted at the possibility of the online presence continuing as a resource for DIY builds and local cycling news.
