How it works
- Reserve your bench and slot online. Walk-ins are not accepted.
- Bring your bike and the parts you plan to install.
- Check in with the instructor and sign the waiver.
- Do your own work at your bench. Open Shop is do-it-yourself. The instructor is on hand for tool and safety questions but does not perform repairs.
- Clean your bench and return every tool before your slot ends.
What we provide
- A work stand at your own bench.
- At every bench: flathead and Phillips screwdrivers, Allen wrenches, wrenches, a pedal wrench, a cable cutter and a cassette tool.
- Grease, lube and rags.
- Chain tool on request, in limited supply.
What to bring
- Your bike.
- All new parts you plan to install, including cables and housing. Brake and shift versions are not interchangeable, so match them to your bike. For new parts, shop at our sponsors, Bikes Plus and Trek Bicycles.
- A seat post adapter if your bike has a D-shaped seat post.
- A helmet if you plan to test ride.
- Closed-toe shoes.
Good to know
- No walk-ins: every bench must be reserved online in advance.
- Test rides: a helmet is required. Test rides take place in the parking area or on Cumberland Drive.
- Riders under 18: a parent or guardian must stay for the whole session and sign the waiver.
- Need more time? Reserve more than one slot.
