Bio:
I was born in Brooklyn NY, raised in a suburb of Philadelphia, and went to High School in Richmond, VA. I have an A.B. from Cornell University (interdisciplinary major in Population and the Environment) and an MBA from the University of Virginia. I’ve worked for Owens-Illinois, Cummins Engine and the Troxel Company making various products. For the past 16 years, I have been a consultant training and implementing QAD, an ERP package for manufacturing companies.
In 1984 I moved to Memphis from Indiana and purchased a $99 bike from Kmart. I began riding from East Memphis out to Germantown and then to Collierville. My first triathlon was Mighty Mite and my bike was the crummiest there. Numerous upgrades later, I now ride a custom built bike with the Cannondale Synapse frame. I’ve completed many triathlons, the longest being the Vineman Half Ironman (Northern California). I have enjoyed several well supported bicycle tours in Vermont, Alaska, Oregon and the Canadian Rockies.
While I have been a member of the Hightailers for over 20 years, I only joined the board this past year. For the past three years, I have led the cycle the greenway ride, raising $ for the Wolf River Conservancy. I organized the recent beer, cheese and chocolate tasting at the Ghost River Brewery. I am excited about leading the MHBC. My goals include getting more folks cycling, providing better support for the new and/or slower riders.
