Welcome to MHBC

The 2013 Trey Erwin Memorial Ride is scheduled for Saturday, June 8th at 7:30 AM.  There will be three distances: 13 miles (in honor of Trey's football jersey number), 25 miles and 52 miles.  Proceeds from this event will benefit Ronald McDonald House.  Metropolitan Bank is graciously sponsoring this event again.  We also plan to have bike jerseys for sale this year.  Registration will open soon.  

Alan, this has been our plan all along while preparing for the inaugural event; in fact, we have already had a preliminary planning meeting for the 2013 event!  We are already beginning discussions with St. Jude to gauge their interest in working with us in 2013 and supporting this event going forward.  If we choose to keep the event the last Saturday in June, we will most definitely have an earlier start time in order to help combat the heat.  We are considering trying to move the event to April or May (again, to try to avoid the heat of the end of June), but we haven't yet had that discussion with the Hightailers Board; however, we will soon.  Thank you for participating in this event this year.  By the way, $9,250.00 was raised from this event!!!   

With the news of the passing of Trey Erwin this afternoon coming just a few days after the "Pray for Trey" bike ride I am grateful to God to have been able to have participated in the ride last Saturday. How about if we as a club have an annual "Trey Erwin Memorial Bike Ride" the last Saturday of every June with the proceeds going to St. Jude or to the charity of his parents choosing! Just a thought. What do y'all think?
