There will be a 200K Brevet starting at the Sun Trust Bank on Hywy 64 at 7:00am on Saturday January 26, 2013. The ride is an official RUSA ride, however one does not have to be a RUSA member to ride. A rider could do 45 miles out and return for the required minimum distance of 90 miles to qualify as a UMCA Century.

I wanted to remind everyone of our first Brevet ride of the season on Saturday, January 26th starting in on the northeast side of Memphis, in Lakeland, TN. You can find an overview map, cue sheet, and directions to the start at: http://harpethbikeclub.com/ultra_page/brevet-rides
This ride has a lot of scenery and good rest stops. We will ride out to the edge of the Mississippi River. A good place for brunch will be the Gilt Edge Cafe. We will pass thru Mason, TN, home of the world famous Gus' Fried Chicken. And for you Gravel Grinders out there, we even have a section of road you would love.

If you are coming in from out-of-town, there are lots of hotels close to the start just off I-40 at exit 18. Also, we normally meet at one of the local watering holes on Friday night for dinner and libations. So let me know if you want to meet up.
